Course structure

In the MSc, emphasis is placed on topics that are critical to the success of transformational change programmes and major product developments.  The programme is structured as a set of seven modules that requires you to attend some taught units, during which your current practices are analysed.  High-impact workshops, lectures and syndicate exercises are used to provide access to, and input from, tutors who are practising experts.  The taught units are supported by distance learning that allows you to extend your understanding of key areas through reflection and application.

The seven modules are:

• Advanced Project Management
• Complex Factors in Project Management
• Organisational Problem Solving
• The Value Proposition
• Extracting Value
• Research Methods in the Workplace
• Dissertation

The programme is structured to offer a postgraduate certificate, a postgraduate diploma and a full masters degree.  Most participants are expected to start with the certificate and progress through the diploma to the masters degree.  Those participants who want to only do the postgraduate certificate or diploma can do so.

Study pattern

As the programme is designed for practising project and programme managers, we have designed it to be highly modular and use blended learning techniques to maximise your opportunity to benefit from both face-to-face discussions with experts and the application of best practice in your own projects and programmes.

Attendance

If accepted onto the programme, you will be expected to attend all the taught units: 21 days in total during a two year period.  Taught units are grouped into blocks of two to four days.

If you have attended CITI's advanced project management programme in the last two years, you may be able to gain exemption from two of the taught units.
