Dates: 1 October 2010
Times: 10:00 to 16:30
Venue: Coutts, The Strand London
The twenty-first meeting of CITI’s Centres of Excellence Club was hosted by Andrew Le Marchand of Coutts & Co at their prestigious Strand headquarters in London on 1st October 2010.
The topic for the meeting was the need to align an organisation’s corporate portfolio to its strategy.
According to Tom Clancy, the author, the difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to make sense! The visibility of many corporate portfolios sits closer to fiction than reality. The question to be addressed in the meeting is how does senior management gain the visibility it needs to successfully manage the portfolio to ensure it is aligned with the strategy and delivers the value expected.
Thomas Docker, Chairman of CITI, completed the general introductions, before Neil Woodrow-Clark, Business Development Manager Coutts & Co, kicked off the day with a fascinating insight into Coutts customer values and business.
Respected world-wide as a thought-leader in translating strategy into action, Christopher Worsley, CEO of CITI, brought members up to speed on new thinking and techniques for helping organisations gain visibility of their project portfolios. Taking a different perspective, David Gardner, Director of Technical Implementation Britvic Soft Drinks, described his insights into ‘creating and using perspective’ in projects, so that they can meet or exceed stakeholders’ expectations.
