CofEe club

Dates: 24 June 2010
Venue: Selex Systems Integration, part of the Finmeccanica Group

The twentieth meeting of CITI’s Centres of Excellence Club was hosted by Selex Systems Integration part of the Finmeccanica Group, at their Westminster, London offices on 24th June 2010.

The topic for the meeting was contracting for success.

Thomas Docker, Chairman of CITI, completed the general introductions, before our host introduced Selex Systems Integration and their global owner the Finmeccanica Group.

Those members who were able to attend the twentieth meeting of CofEe Club were rewarded with lots of good advice from Chris Hobson, Principal Consultant at CITI, who is an expert in the subject of contracts within projects and programmes. The creation of Tate Modern was used as a case study and members were shown video clips that were not aired on the BBC documentary at the time, but were made available exclusively to CITI by the producer. Needless to say, there are many contract nuggets contained in them, including the case of a supposedly watertight fixed-price contract not being so.

Interactive discussions and group workshop exercises took place to explore the topic. Access to all presentations, workshop outputs and papers are available to CofEe Club members via the online forum.
