Dates: 12 June 2008
Venue: Norwich Union, London
At the twelfth meeting of CITI’s Centres of Excellence Club, held at Norwich Union, the topic for the day was complexity.
Project complexity is a current hot topic in the PPM industry, organisations such as the PMI and APM are all looking to release standards in the area, and many universities are researching the topic with verve.
The real issue for organisations is how this increasing complexity in projects will affect them and if they should be preparing their organisational capability to meet the demand.
Dr Thomas Docker, Chairman, CITI set the scene.
Bob Assirati, Project Director, Office of Government Commerce, shared his insights into project complexity in government.
Norwich Union, introduced our hosts for the day Norwich Union Healthcare and discussed how complexity (through integrated solutions across multiple business operations) features in their projects and how they address it.
BAE Systems, Corporate Project Management Council, identified BAE’s main sources of project complexity and shared his views on how they leverage research, understand competencies and reduce PM “time to market” to ensure they deliver on time everytime.
