Delivering strategic programmes

This course will show you how to set up and manage benefit driven programmes.

The course begins by analysing the differences in the management of projects, portfolios and programmes so you can realise the attitudes and behaviours necessary to deliver a successful programme.

You will examine each of the phases of a programme and identify appropriate tools and techniques, with their value and limitations explained. The focus is on providing practical tools that can be applied in the workplace not on the application of process.

Using two real cases, you will live through the experience of a programme; you will apply approaches from set up and execution to developing the programme brief and structuring the work.

The importance of stakeholders, the realities of making decisions driven by benefits case and the critical concerns of outcomes and value, along with how to manage across complex, interdependent projects are all part of your learning.

Who is it for?

Are you a programme manager, business change manager or executive charged with making change happen throughout your organisation by managing a programme? Have you previously achieved a method accreditation and now wish to develop further understanding about implementing the methodology in your organisation? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions – this course is for you!

What will I gain?

This course will help you and your team to deal with the complexity and the realities of making decisions driven by benefit cases. It will allow you to realise the attitudes and behaviours necessary to deliver programmes.

The course is delivered over two modules to allow delegates to take time to start to apply their learning in their company and return to the second module with questions for the tutor.
