High profile projects
Projects are increasingly featured on the news and in television programmes documenting their whole lifecycle. The sheer scale of these projects makes them interesting by themselves. But how the project management team tackles the issues surrounding these complex projects and the challenges they bring are of particular interest to project professionals.
A recent series documenting ‘big’ projects. Featured on Channel 5, each episode looked at big projects and documented the technological developments of each area, the issues and challenges faced and how the project was completed.
A programme focusing entirely on big 'moving' projects. Whether it is moving new underground rolling stock to its new location or an entire village to stop it sinking into the ground, this series highlighted the process, risks and adversities when moving something on a grand scale.
A documentary series following huge engineering projects where brain power and tenacity are combined and activated by project teams around the globe. One of the projects, Palm Island / Dubai, was also featured in Project magazine vol 20 (July 07).

Massive infrastructure projects such as the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link are the order of the day. Our Design Authority, Louise Lee, was presenting at a conference in South Africa, where the project leader for the rail link presented on the massive issues they are facing.
