What are the course objectives?

You will have a clear understanding of how to plan and manage strategic change initiatives.  You will also develop an understanding of how to use a set of tools to clearly define your approach to managing change, and the confidence to deploy these tools effectively, having practiced using them in a significant change scenario.

    • Strategic change planning.
  • Making it happen:
    • Tactical considerations when planning and implementing change
    • Shaping the change plan (benefits, impacts and deliverables)
    • Building up participation in, and support for, the change, and dealing with resistance
    • Developing a reception strategy and embedding the change
    • Supporting adoption of the change
    • Monitoring and controlling change effectiveness – refining and improving approach and capability.
  • Making it stick:
    • Reinforcing the new, changed, state
    • Preventing ‘backsliding’ into old habits and ways of working
    • Ensuring continued ownership of and commitment to the change.
What is the course format?

This highly-interactive programme addresses key areas of change to focus on how organisations can manage strategic change initiatives in delivering planned business benefits. Using CITI’s change diamond® as the overarching framework, we address:

  • Change strategy and governance (‘making it wanted’),
  • Delivery and adoption (‘making it happen’) and
  • Embedding, sustainability and reinforcement (‘making it stick’).
What approach will be used?

This course is a mixture of interactive discussions and activities, which includes the exploration of a number of change tools and their use in the change environment. The second two-day module is based on a major case study, which will provide you with the opportunity to apply the tools and concepts through the complete change process. Participants are provided access to CITI’s materials and tools through our electronic portal, the CITI Xchange.

What is the duration and cost of the course?

2 days plus 2 days, with the option to undertake further extension exercises in the workplace, which will be reviewed by CITI change professionals.
