The course anticipates that you have had some experience of working in, or managing a programme, or that you have attended an MSP® course.

What are the course objectives?

This course will help you and your team to deal with the complexity and the realities of making decisions driven by benefit cases. It will allow you to realise the attitudes and behaviours necessary to deliver programmes. You will be able to apply management approaches to set up and execute programmes, to understand the tools available and their use and to plan and work with others to develop the programme brief and structure the work.

Based on seventeen years of running and supporting programmes, and reference to case studies of organisations in the private and public sector, CITI has integrated its findings, its techniques, and its tools into an intensive four days of accelerated experience for programme managers. Using two real cases, one involving a major transformation and the other a merger of two businesses, you live through the experience of the programme.

What is the course format?

The course is an interactive mix of lectures, discussions, exercises, and formal casework supported by programme management tools and techniques, led by an experienced programme manager and tutor. During the course, questionnaires and evaluations are used to allow you to assess your own programmes and experiences. The course will challenge you to translate your learning into evidence of altered behaviours in the workplace, thus ensuring the effectiveness of your newly acquired approaches and techniques. This course is effectively a master class in the management of programmes.

This is a two module course, 2 days plus a further 2 days.
