Do I need an open course or an in-company course? http://www.citi.co.uk/do-i-need-an-open-course-or-an-in-company-course/ http://www.citi.co.uk/do-i-need-an-open-course-or-an-in-company-course/#comments Thu, 07 Feb 2013 14:58:39 +0000 http://www.citi.co.uk/?p=3331 An open course is a public course attended by individuals or small groups from organisations, but the course itself is open to anyone and will be attended by people from a variety of organisations. An in-company course is just that, it is a course run internally for a specific organisation and is often tailored to their language, approach or culture.

What is the difference between accreditation-based courses and CITI’s core courses? http://www.citi.co.uk/what-is-the-difference-between-accreditation-and-beyond-method/ http://www.citi.co.uk/what-is-the-difference-between-accreditation-and-beyond-method/#comments Thu, 24 Jan 2013 15:04:59 +0000 http://www.citi.co.uk/?p=2534 Most industry accreditations are tests of knowledge; learn the book and pass the exam.  There are multiple valuable reasons to do this; they teach a common language, a recognised accreditation improves your CV, you appear more ‘qualified’.  What they don’t teach you, however, is judgement in the application of that knowledge – this only comes from experience.

CITI’s beyond method courses and specialist workshops are complementary to accredited courses and use experiential learning approaches that allow you to practice application of the knowledge you’ve learned, and take that experience back into the workplace. If you would like to know more about how these different kinds of courses go hand-in-hand to make you more qualified and enhance your capability please talk to us.

What is the difference between PRINCE2® and APMP courses? http://www.citi.co.uk/what-is-the-difference-between-prince2-and-apmp/ http://www.citi.co.uk/what-is-the-difference-between-prince2-and-apmp/#comments Tue, 07 Feb 2012 14:35:25 +0000 http://www.citi.co.uk/?p=3346 First of all they are complementary, not in competition with each other (a commonly held misconception). PRINCE2® (Foundation and Practitioner levels)  are methodology accreditations based on PRINCE2®, which is owned by the AXELOS; the APMP is a project management qualification based on the Association for Project Management’s body of knowledge (APM BoK).

The PRINCE2® methodology is a process model which provides a route map of ‘what’ to do in the various stages of a project.

The APM BoK is a guide which covers the disciplines of project management, organised into 12 sections.  For example, it provides knowledge about managing stakeholders.

To help you decide which is right for you, please talk to us.

PRINCE2® is a registered trade mark of AXELOS Limited
