What is the difference between PRINCE2® and APMP courses? http://www.citi.co.uk/what-is-the-difference-between-prince2-and-apmp/ http://www.citi.co.uk/what-is-the-difference-between-prince2-and-apmp/#comments Tue, 07 Feb 2012 14:35:25 +0000 http://www.citi.co.uk/?p=3346 First of all they are complementary, not in competition with each other (a commonly held misconception). PRINCE2® (Foundation and Practitioner levels)  are methodology accreditations based on PRINCE2®, which is owned by the AXELOS; the APMP is a project management qualification based on the Association for Project Management’s body of knowledge (APM BoK).

The PRINCE2® methodology is a process model which provides a route map of ‘what’ to do in the various stages of a project.

The APM BoK is a guide which covers the disciplines of project management, organised into 12 sections.  For example, it provides knowledge about managing stakeholders.
