This key techniques course covers the process and approach of health checks in five components beginning with the purpose and philosophy supporting health checks, this includes the attitude and rationales that support the delivery of successful health checks.
The course then moves on to communications, how to translate the under-pinning models into the health check environment and how to overcome the barriers that arise.
The tutor will then cover the key techniques, including a detailed explanation of the critical models and hints on their application. Finally the outputs of the health check process are covered and how to provoke effective action as a result of the report/feedback given to the recipient(s).
Do you need to be confident about the likely success of a project? Are you a programme manager relying on projects delivered by others? Are you a senior project manager implementing peer reviews or others projects? Are you working a PPSO which has to assure a project portfolio? If you answered yes to any of these questions this course is for you.
Participants leave the course confident that they understand the concept and practise of conducting health checks and equipped with a variety of tools and techniques that will allow them to health check projects effectively.
The day is designed to be highly participative and therefore uses a range of exercises that focus heavily on the practical application of models that can be applied to health checks. Brief set-piece exercises and case studies intersperse a series of semi-formal seminar type interventions.
1 day.
