Much of the impact of the programme course arises from the tutors. Not only are they engaging and polished professional presenters in their own right but they speak with authority having managed significant programmes themselves.
At this level our approach to learning is to enable the delegates to connect with the techniques through case studies and stories of personal experience. The tutors own extensive experience is brought to bear in providing delegates with a variety of 'real life' case studies and examples to reflect on.
The role of the tutor is often to question and caution the individual regarding their approach and through this stretch the individual to find the correct approach themselves based on all the sources of knowledge, including their own.
All the learning events are an interactive mix of lectures, discussions, exercises, and formal casework - supported by programme management tools and techniques. During the course, questionnaires and evaluations are used to allow delegates to assess their own programmes and experiences.
Our courses challenge the participants to translate their learning into evidence of altered behaviours in the workplace, ensuring the effectiveness of newly acquired approaches and techniques.
Profiles for a number of our programme course tutors are shown below.
Peter Collin
Peter has had many years of senior change management experience. His role as the head of training and development for a ‘blue chip’ pharmaceutical organisation introduced him, at first hand, to the world of transformational change; he has subsequently, throughout his career, managed numerous programmes often involving international collaboration.
Peter is particularly keen to maximise the impact and benefits for which change initiatives are run. Consequently he focuses on reducing wasted effort caused by inappropriate or inadequate implementation. MSP* accredited Peter prefers to combine first-hand experience and practical approaches to explain the concepts of programme management to delegates in an accessible and non-theoretical way. This means that his engaging style of presentation is liberally scattered with real examples of what has worked for himself and his clients. This is commented on favourably by his delegates in the highly positive feedback he constantly receives.
Christopher Worsley
Christopher has been responsible for many CITI assignments that have permanently changed the programme and project performance of a number of large and well known companies. His clients include: LloydsTSB, Aviva, Prudential, RBS, Tesco, Direct Line, John Lewis and numerous other national names in both public and private sectors.
He frequently acts as an advisor and assessor to major programmes for large corporations and has project directed well in excess of 100 projects for clients. Christopher has authored many published papers and articles on programme management subjects, including benefits realisation and programme boundaries.
His lively, passionate and entertaining style, coupled to an impressive track record of achievement and an intellectually incisive approach, make him a popular speaker at conferences on programme and portfolio management. Delegates on Christopher’s courses do not always receive what they expect, but they always leave with what they need to know about programme management for years to come.
