Nineth web site - November 2017 to September 2023The nineth website was developed using branding from a local design agency Cygnus, in an attempt to regain some of the prestige branding and design ethics we had back in 2008. For this website we returned to WordPress for content management - and moved our webchat to LiveChat. |
Eighth web site - February 2016 to November 2017The eighth was designed and developed rapidly by an internal team of two, to address a number of issues with the previous suite of websites that had ultimately caused some customer confusion and a high bounce rate. Content management was dropped - in favour of lightweight and clean code (due to complaints about speed of previous website, and lack of uptake of any content management by individuals within the company). |
Seventh web site - circa April 2015 to February 2016There was an element of "design by committee" as many individuals had input into the design and aspirations of the websites - with focus and effort primarily on the Consulting division. The company was split into two - Consulting and Training. To facilitate this move, a direction page was added which significantly increased the bounce rate. |
Sixth web site - circa January 2013 to April 2015Due to supplier constraints with the previous web site, and new branding - the site was redeveloped largely internally using the very flexible open-source content management solution WordPress. New content, search engine opitmisation, and a responsive theme capable of delivering content to various devices were the drivers for the new site. |
Fifth web site - circa September 2008 to December 2012To bring the site into line with the new branding, the public web site was redeveloped. To get fresh ideas and approach, external developers InterDirect were approached to re-design the site. Content management was key to the success of the new site, as all previous sites had required assistance from IT services. Additional mini-sites were also created later for open courses and postgraduate studies |
Fourth web site - circa Mar 2005 to September 2008It was felt that although the site had come a long way, it now did not meet the demands of all visitors. A new approach was adopted, and the term non-CITI speak was introduced. An internal team created a strategy to address all visitors needs and importance, and the home page was made less cluttered and confusing. Navigation was also improved by changing the menu options. |
Third web site - circa Nov 2003 to Jan 2005Some of the vision and concepts implemented by the second web site appeared to be flawed when it was published - maybe it was just ahead of its time, as the image-rich environment took ages to load.... Again an internal team sat down with the current sales materials and set about addressing problems discovered in earlier releases - such as unreasonable download times, difficulty in maintaince and development. |
Second web site - circa May 2003 to Jan 2004Following restructure to both the infrastructure of the company and its products/services, it was felt that the original web site no longer met the criteria required to give CITI adequate web presence. An internal team focused on the new offering and set about creating a new site from the ground up using the marketing brouchures available at the time. |
First web site - circa September 2000 to May 2003A project was launched to increase this presence and also to act as a marketing tool. The development of the site was undertaken by Turton CMS. Two sites were developed - one for Flash enabled browsers, and one without Flash. |
Holding page - circa January 1999 to September 2000Prior to 1999, the only web presence CITI had was a single page giving a brief description of the company and its services. Developed in the infamous Microsoft FrontPage. |
